Looking for 6.5 comps for gmc envoy, the ones I have aren't bright enough for me. Looking for suggestions. Was thinking about possibly going nendo pro audio in the doors, and maybe a super tweeter if the stock opening. I have room not sure if I have enough though. Sq is the main goal, but I really like bright highs. Suggestions please. If you have something for sale let me know. Also considering an 8 in the door and building kicks to house the 6.5

No clue, but I can Vouch for CDT speakers, sounding excellent for the monies!Im running CDT, after about 2 yrs buying, and searching for the sound that I like, and am very happy with them.Image Dynamics are nice too for the money also.

I'm assuming cdt and Id will have very mellow tweets as that's what most people prefer
You can add a bright tweet in the pillars too, if thats what you want, and need, I recommend Kicker KS25,and throw a min of 50 true rms on them..loudest ear peircing tweets Ive ever used.nothing wrong with getting/using the best of both worlds in the front stage.

So are you saying use two tweets, one in the kick one in the dash or a pillars

Thats what Im saying, if you want it LOUD,and screaming.A good set up of cdt components will not get over ran by the Kicker tweet,if you adjust the gains well enough.I actually run 3 tweets up front on ea side.Briaxl set (stock location),CL-60 set(tweet in stock door location), and the KS25 in the Pillar

Wow that's what I'm talking about. I just love the highs not really harsh per se just bright. I mostly listen to country so it's the acoustic guitar I guess that I want the highs for. Hard to explain .

I understand what you're saying, but I think you should realize what you're looking for is accurate representation of the top-end of that geetar. I would say consider something a little less conventional and try a ring radiator tweeter like the Vifa XT25 or BG Neo3. If you're not feeling what the regular offerings are, maybe you should consider the irregular.

But I, for one, really like the top-end representation of my JBL MS tweets. Not overly bright (as in not shrill or sibilant with the right TA and EQ) and has managed to reproduce acoustic guitar better than pretty much any other tweet I've used to date. Definitely worth considering.

Thanks neo, I have a hard time explaining to most people. I don't like screaming highs , just a lot brighter than most. Do you think I should run active. Also do you think a super tweeter is a good option. I love jbl and have been looking at different options from them. Are you active or passive.

Running passive and set gains by DMM to 125WRMS on a 1K@0dB tone. My tweeter is mounted directly above my woofer and behind the door card. This tweet is EXTREMELY forgiving of less-than-optimal installation, but I did need a little TA to keep things from getting ringy.

Trust me, I'm a musician and I'm an asshole when it comes to accurate-sounding drums and guitars, two things which I believe are some of the hardest for CA speakers to accurately reproduce. When you can hear the finger come off when individual strings are plucked or that sustained fadeaway of a properly-done crash cymbal, it all feels worth it.

TBH, I would avoid supertweets like the plague if you're looking for accuracy. They're really just meant to keep up with super-loud systems, not accurate reproduction. Definitely consider the BG Neo3. It's a planar tweet which uses an entirely different technique towards projecting sound. You should get a much better sense of airiness and space in the recording when you listen to them, something I'm sure you'll appreciate. Only downside is they're about 50 each, but they are sealed-back and should go into the a-pillars with a small amount of fiberglass work.

More than that, closer to 100 . But you get what you pay for. You are one of the people here that I totally trust your opinion. I see the jbl tweeter is titanium, I'm pretty sure that a soft dome is out of the question for me. I was hoping to use the stock dash location and fire of the front window. But glassing the a pillars is right up my alley.

There's a SQ Scion TC build log on DIYMA that would be RIGHT up your alley to view. Guy used the BG Neo3 and Neo8 with a dedicated mibass in a 3-way setup. I would pay for a demo in his car just to see how gorgeous that thing sounds.

And I appreciate the compliments on my opinion. Keep in mind that the titanium dome on this set is definitely one of the "softest" metal domes I've ever listened to and there are quite a few textile domes that can be rather harsh. It's more a factor of install and location than it is about the material used.
