Component Speakers Issues?

Hey guys so I just installed some stuff in my 2005 Ram.

I have an IDA-X305s HU, MRP-F600 Amp, and Audiobahn ABC6002V speakers.

I bought the speakers without knowing much about them, didn't even listen to them before I bought them.

Anyway, the speakers themselves have little to know bass, and I have to turn the volume up at least 7/10's of the way to hear them well enough while driving.

I have adjusted all the HU settings, and crossover/gain settings on the amp.

Is this normal? Should I look at another set of components?

Thanks!

Not exactly sure what the problem could be besides the gain or input on the amp needs to be adjusted accordingly. The amp deliver 100w into four channels, and the speakers supposedly has an rms rating of 200w. Test the speakers on another h/u if possible, otherwise, check the gain or input on the amp.

The speakers have an RMS rating of 200w, I assume that means 100w each.

I am only using channels 1 and 2.

Look at the pic of the adjustment side of the amp here.

The gain is set to the line just before NOM, what does not NOM stand for btw?

So basically on the total range of the gain screw, it is below the middle way line between min and max.

Also, I have no subs, so the HP and LP filters are turned off on the amp.

You realize you are sending full signal.....from 1hz to 30,000hz to your speakers, by having those filters off.

Set the filter to HP, and put it to 100.

I would bridge 1 set of speakers to channel 1/2 and the other set to channels 3/4. Set both the filters to HP, and set the gains 1 tick back from the NOM on both gains.

I see, the reason I turned the filters off was because I have no other speakers other than the two components, and thought that maybe I could gain some bass this way.

But it makes sense, since the range of these speakers doesn't start at 1hz.

Ok now as far as bridging, I only have the two speakers, so how will the wiring scheme go?

I know how to connect the speakers to the amp, but how does the RCA cable connect? Do I need to add another set of RCA cables?

Get 2 y splitters for rca's....single female, dual male. 1 set of rca's go into both inputs on amp. And if you look at the pic of the amp....it shows you where to put the pos and neg for each set of channels.

ok so will the white end coming from the HU go to both whites in the amp? and then the red from the HU going to both reds on the amp?

Also I turned up the gain more, and it is definitely louder, but the bass just is nothing compared to the stock speakers in there.

Will the y splitters increase bass as well as the volume?

Do component speakers generally have a good amount of bass, or do i need to add a sub to get some good low tones?

sealing your doors and deadening them will add bass

compared to stock speakers, did you run them with the stock head unit or the current one as well?

I have considered adding deadening to the doors, but wanted to see I needed to go with a different set of speakers before I spend money on the deadening.

Also the stock speakers were only used with the factory HU. I had the Infinity 7 speaker package that came from Dodge, which means it had tweeters in the dash, and 6x9 speakers to act as subs in the front doors. Now I am just running the Audiobahn components in the front doors.

I just am not sure why I have to turn the volume way up to get a normal amount of sound out of them.
