complex system trouble

I have an 01 Chrysler sebring coupe (Mitsubishi eclipse basically) with an Infinity sound system that came stock. I removed the head unit, and put in a JVC KS1100, an SSL 2 channel 1200watt amp, capacitor, and distribution block hooked up to 2- 12" Kicker Comp's. When I put the radio on the new head unit everything plays fine until I turn the volume up to about 30, then the protection light comes on the amp. I have the 2 12's briged at the amp, and I have a cut out switch on my dash that I hooked the remote lead to, so every time the protection kicks on and shuts my subs off I am able to reset it with the cutoff switch. I need to know whats going on with my amp though. There has to be a way to keep the amp on so I can bump my stero, right now I am frustrated as hell. I have a little bit of experience with car stero installation, but when it comes to all the technical frequencies, and ohms, and that I just am not experienced enough. Can one of you guys help me out with this please?

you need to bring it into a good shop that knows what they are doing at this point as you really don't know what you're doing you'll do more damage than good.

First get rid of the Cap lol. then, find out how many ohms and voice coils the subs are. read up on your amp to see if it can handle the way you have it bridged to the final configuration of your subs. if that is all good, buy a Digital Multimeter and set your gains on the amp. there is a thread on the forums to explain how to set the gain.

Also, go back and check your ground wire connection make sure it is tight and on bare metal.

sounds like your woofers arent the right ohms ,to run your woofers on a 2 channel amp you need single 8 ohm woofers to bridge, you probably have single 4 ohm thats why when your amp starts to warm up it shuts down.

ps; get rid of that junk, buy better equipment youll have less problems!

Also, it could be that you have both subs bridged.... try puttin them on seperate channels...
