I have an 01 Chrysler sebring coupe (Mitsubishi eclipse basically) with an Infinity sound system that came stock. I removed the head unit, and put in a JVC KS1100, an SSL 2 channel 1200watt amp, capacitor, and distribution block hooked up to 2- 12" Kicker Comp's. When I put the radio on the new head unit everything plays fine until I turn the volume up to about 30, then the protection light comes on the amp. I have the 2 12's briged at the amp, and I have a cut out switch on my dash that I hooked the remote lead to, so every time the protection kicks on and shuts my subs off I am able to reset it with the cutoff switch. I need to know whats going on with my amp though. There has to be a way to keep the amp on so I can bump my stero, right now I am frustrated as hell. I have a little bit of experience with car stero installation, but when it comes to all the technical frequencies, and ohms, and that I just am not experienced enough. Can one of you guys help me out with this please?
