Comp VR

i recently came across a deal where i could get 2 kicker comp VR 15" subs for $150 i only have about 600 watts rms, but i plan on upgrading, will they still sound alright untill i get a new amp? (not for about 2-3 months) they are the new comps the 2005 ones with the silver cone. i'd have them in a ported box if that would help.

yes, thats plenty of power for them.. i think there like 300rms?

vc? as in voice coil configuration you mean? i think that's what you're asking, im getting dual 4 ohm ones because i can bridge them in 4 ohm now, and 1 ohm later when i upgrade my amp.

go for it, it is a decent deal, i used to have comp vr 15's, gave them 1600 rms, took it all day. i also had them on only 400 rms to both for a while, still sounded great

they seem good for a starter. 500rms a piece...i think they will still sound good with 300rms. im running overrated 500rms watts to a kicker L7 12" and it sounds real good still. for a buck fifty, id go for it if your on a budget and just want some beat for now. im sure they will get loud considering their 15's and in a ported box. not sure the SQ of the comp vr's though

im actually debating now weather to get 2 15" comp VRs or 1 15" L5, both would be getting around 600 watts RMS, and i could get both for around 200, anyones opinion on that?

yeah, with shipping it comes out to be exactly 200 for both Comp Vrs. and about 177 for the 15" L5

Anyone every built a box for CVRS? i'd have someone design one, but i dont have a pay pal acount, anyone have plans aready they could PM me?

i would go with the treo tis anyday over the comp vr. much more output with the same amount of power given that the install is correct.

the tsi is an all around way better sub than the cvr. the comp vr doesnt sound half as good or have nearly as much output as the tsi. and money wise it is a better sub for the dollar.
