Common low notes Hz!

It all depends on the sub but I wouldnt tune less than 34-35 in a car.

A lot of times they tend to play rap really well tuned low, but they fall on their face (loss of output) at ~60-70hz.

Thats not to say I don't like a low tune, but you better have a good midstage/midbass to back it up.

 
Rap songs don't go as long as most people think whereas I have heard certain classical material go as low as 9 to 15 Hz. Try reproducing that with your port tuned @ 30 Hz.

 
yeah the sub is playing the freq that is recorded..you just dont seem to get it do you?
no i dont think you get it, running a recording through a processor, an amp, then speakers can change it, especially with room acoustics and box tuning. Ever seen a recording studio? Wonder why they have 10 thousand dollar monitor speakers?
