I guarantee, they would not be able to take the whole truck. When the engine won't start and they can't drag it, I don't see how they can take it. Please explain.chevy truck is one of the most stolen trucks out there. do what you think you need to do but if they want it bad enough they will get it. its not hard at all

Ok, with cars on both sides of me, you couldn't get under it from the side. From the back, that would be difficult.Pull a trailer up next to it. Get fork truck to and put your truck on the trailer... At my old work the flatbed trucks had fork trucks on the back of them. They could lift 15,000lbs. Could steal your truck in like 45seconds lol
EDIT: I guess the next thing I add is a tracking device hidden with a backup power supply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifOk, with cars on both sides of me, you couldn't get under it from the side. From the back, that would be difficult.
Plus, what guy with a $50k fork truck is trying to steal a stereo system?
People who steal stereo's are broke ghetto idiots, not heavy equipment owners.....

Yea tracking isn't a bad idea. Just hide it good lolOk, with cars on both sides of me, you couldn't get under it from the side. From the back, that would be difficult.

I need to figure out what else I could do.You don't use PM's tho
The truck's gross weight is around 10,000 pounds, which is more than the wreckers around here can lift. When I put the parking brake on, they won't be able to drag me out of the spot. The only thing they could quickly take my truck with is a rollback. In the lot I park, there is only 20 ft of space between my truck and the car parked in the opposite lane. There isn't enough room for a rollback to fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Even if one of my windows was broken, they wouldn't be able to unlock my doors. I remove the unlock mechanism each time I leave my truck in the parking lot. You would have to climb in the window with broken glass. Also, my hood won't pop without the driver's door open. With certain things un-plugged in my engine bay, the truck will not start.
If they can't rip things out in the parking lot, they're not getting anything. They can't physically take the whole truck because no vehicle large enough to drag it can fit in the lot lanes and they won't be able to get it started without certain engine computer components. I won't go into detail on how I'm preventing stuff from being ripped out.
But, just so you know, I've thought about a lot of stuff.
You've got to think about things more.
Can't tell the story yet, but eventually I will.the harder you make things to steal may just **** off the thief and render your vehicle a bashing item doing more damage than one will want to repair. cut airbags, cut seats, break all panels etc. just because you made it difficult to steal said items. tracking is cool but when you are passed out from a night of hard drinking and wake up 10hrs later you still think your audio stuff is still there and working? tracking does not make it easier to find it. if its gps and they take it to a solid metal building your s.o.l. i have seen it and it *****. not saying it happens all the time but it happens. please don't be naive and think it will never happen to you because it could.a wrecker will take it if needed. dont think for a minute your truck is unstealable. my ram 3500 will pull that **** where i want to go until your stuff breaks.
now thats over. lets get back to this story you cannot talk about but want too. everyone here wants to know.
Is that possible?Might just consider buying insurance to cover the value of the audio equipment and batteries.
Un-plug your ECU. On both my vehicles, it's been in an easy spot. I didn't remove the fiero's, but I know where it was.I need to figure out what else I could do.
Without the computer, the truck won't run. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifpretty sure theres access to the ignition wire in the most half *** easy way on our trucks and i hate it lol better off just having good insurance and documenting the cost of whats lost but still of course taking a loss on time and energy
oh cmon thats not a reasonable way to secure your vehicle unless you know you'll be gone for significant periods of time.Without the computer, the truck won't run. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
The ECU is under the battery up front. I re-located mime when I installed my quad alt bracket. It's now held in place by a bolt and wing nut. Two electrical plug clips, and it's out.oh cmon thats not a reasonable way to secure your vehicle unless you know you'll be gone for significant periods of time.
