College Students: What was your last GPA??

i thought master required a thesis and dissertation was phd.
I was also under the impression that a thesis was the idea (formal and normalized) and the dissertation was the supporting argument, but i am a retard and what do i know.
The 1st part is correct.

A dissertation from what I understand is a research paper (where you conduct your own research) plus the defense of it in from of the community, as well as the committee.

A thesis is a highly developed research paper and not all Master's programs require them.

I thought a dissertation and thesis were the same thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I have a friend that graduated from Berkeley and she had to do a dissertation or thesis or whatever for her undergrad as a history major. Everyone from undergrad to PhD had to do a major research paper. The undergrad ones were obviously more generic. I have never heard of an MBA program requiring a final research paper. So maybe its major to major and school to school.

Some MBAs do some don't. It depends if the school leans more towards application or theory.

Flip you are gonna be one bad azz dude if you get both a PhD and MBA! You'll end up being overqualified with that kind of resume'. So you don't have to have a Master's degree to get into a PhD program? Just a BA? I was always under the impression you had to have a graduate degree to get into that kind of program.

A PhD in business is only worthwhile if you go into teaching or actual research. A company doesn't have much use for it.

And I have a friend now at Berkeley who went straight to a PhD program from undergrad in some kind of biology major. I forget what focus exactly.

Very correct.

The PhD is mainly for the above mentioned purposes. The MBA helps you refine your business skills and enhance your opportunities for promotions/raises/etc.

hey guys I need some data for my finals project, if you could simply answer these four questions I would greatly appreciate it!
1) What was your GPA last semester?

2) How many units/classes were you taking last semester?

3) Are you a freshman/sophomore or junior/senior in college? (how far along in college are you)

4) Male or Female?

I'm trying to see if there is a relationship between how many classes/units you take and GPA. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
