Cloth Inside Box?

I just got my subwoofer box in Belva 1SV12G Single 12" Vented MDF Enclosure - Sonic Electronix and was wondering what this lining of cloth is inside as you can see in the pic?

Its blocking the wiring posts inside the box and was wondering if i can just rip it out or if it serves a purpose.

1.8cuft isn't all that small for a single 12...

it is 1.8 cuft? its the biggest/affordable box i can find for my sub that likes 2.0cuft.

Anywho so i should leave it in?

Yeah I guess I'm too used to seeing volume measurements as net, it's probably only around 1.2 after displacement which still might be ok for some smaller 12's but if his says 2.0 he's way off...

OP it's not the end of the world, if you've already bought it you might as well throw the sub in and see how it sounds.

Leave the polyfill.

The average 12" sub displacement is like .1 cube, which would bring you to 1.7 before the polyfill kicks in. You're fine.

That was my first prefab box I bought last year when I got a "real" system. It's actually 1.38cf net tuned to 34hz

And yes you can rip out the polyfill over the terminal cup
