Clarion DXZ576USB HELP!!!

Hi, 2 questions i cant seem to find answer for

1) my headunit plays music off cd CLEARlY but if i load up the usb stick and play it through that usb port i get popping/clicking sounds throughout the song.

The bitrate of the song (mp3) on the USB is recorded high straight off the same cd. even if Ive Converted a cd to mp3 onto the computer and then burnt it to cd and copied it to usb, cd sounds great, usb ends up getting popping/clicking sounds.

2) Whenever i seem to lower the volume on my headunit down by about 2-3 db i get a big THUD from the subwoofers, even if the volume on the head unit is low, the thud from the subwoofers is loud as if i had the volume up and just cut out the power.

System is:

Clarion DXZ576USB head unit

Clarion DPZ1800 Amp

2 Pioneer 12inch (i think they might be 400wat rms? MAYBE //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

8Guage running to the amp.

RCAs are gold plated and are decent size thickness.

Also. the remote wire is looped to another 300watt rms amp but i havnt got the power looped to that at the moment

i have that same radio,but im using my i-pod and its no problem. try finding a better ground for your radio. this weekend il try using the usb port.

I had the same setup running on my previous sony headunit without any thud and when i installed the clarion which i actually did a better job wiring it up than with the sony i got the problem.
