Two 8's ported can be less than 2 cuft. I have two skar ma-8's on a apsm2000, and the do good in my hatch-08 dodge caliber. 1.8 cuft with 3x11 aeroport for 32hrtz at 2ohms.

have u picked subs yet? if ur not ok with 10.s 2 8.s would sound good ...like sa8v2 ...my buddy actually has a badazz custom box for 2 8.s he would sell its got kerf port birch double baffled sweet box im sure u could get ut for cheap hell if ur serious he might sell 2 of the sa 8.s

trust me 2 of these 8.s on 1000 watts would be loud in a hatch..have u ever seen how big the sa8 v2 is ??

They're beastly little things. Also, I'm dead serious about having something in this civic but it'll have to wait til our taxes come in. No more spending, I just bought the car lol
