I may need to upgrade my starting battery

im using the starting battery for my audio also i have not done the big 3 YET but i was wanting options on batteries for for starting and audio

i know optima batts but what are some other batts taht can be used for starting and to run my amp off of

its only about 500w (2 JL 8w3v3s) and a stock 110A alt on a 03 ranger

well wat amp is it

and with that your stock battery and alt should handle that with no problem and if it cant then just do the big 3 and you should be good

if not go with optima yellow top or gold duralast they are good for the money i am running a duralast upfront with 130amp alt and a stinger spv70 in the back running 2300rms and only getting drops to 13 at full tilt at idle with lights on drops to around 12.5-12.7

im running a power bass 600.4 (more than needed) im just getting a lil dimming i havent measured my V yet just got it all installed and tuned today ill try the big3 first and if no resolve ill do a yellow top

i have the factory batt still in so it may be on the way out

yea it might be i was getting horrible drops with only like 1200rms on stock battery got it tested and it was bad

i work at O'reilly auto so i can get the optima for a decent price i just dont know if i want to spend over $100 for a batt but if it needs it-it will be done

You have to set your gains right on that Xplod amp Ranch.

But yellowtop up front and the big 3 in 1/0 wire and you should be fine. You're not running a big *** Xplod amp like Ranch so ou don't need to go crazy with batteries and all that.

nope i am running a zx1500 to my subs and zx850.4 to comps and i run that xplod amp in my boat for seleniums so hate all u want for 100 bucks try to find a brand new amp with warranty that does the power

so.. big3 first and see what it does than yellow top after that

is power/ground wire better to use than battery cable wire

also do i NEED to run 1/0 or will 4-2awg be good enough

use 1/0 for the big 3 you could get away with 4 guage maybe but i would go ahead and use 1/0 if you are gonna do it do it right

stock wiring on my truck has only 6 guage
