Chevy VS. Ford

I own both......for work and business.....

2006 Ford F350, 2006 E250, 1991 G20, 2002Silverado.........

The fords are more troublesome, both 2006 ford's vehicles were in the shop

within a few miles of purchase - bad injectors, bad tires, bad ball joint

and some other BS I cant recall, plus the dealers **** balls as does the service dept at some dealerships.......I'll never try ford again.

The Chevy Silverado , I also bought brandnew has 90K miles on it and hasent seen the dealer since day one........I love the truck which is why I keep it around

and dont go for a newer model-plus it has the best stereo system I ever created

The old van I have has 125K miles and the engine doesnt use oil,the ****** works excellent and the van is a real workhorse.....

GM FTW.........

Unfortunatly there is absolutly NO car that GM produces today that I find

attractive -Dodge on the other hand has the cool cars

I didn't know Chevy and Ford can last that long pulling that much weight
Chevys cant, but if you ask a lot of hot shot drivers what they prefer using, or even go to a constuction site and see what the large trailers are behind and i bet you would find that the majority of them are using Fords, in particular the fords with the 7.3. I had one that i sold with 250,000 miles on it and was still running like a champ. Still miss that truck.

Hmm hard choice... but these are the cars I'd own from each.

Chevy - Corvette, Camaro, Cobalt SS (hey, don't knock it, it is a fun car)

Ford - 03/04 Cobra, Lightning, GT (but thats a little out of the question)

I've always been a Ford guy. I have a '99 Sable with 130,000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I got it (back in '02 with 70k). It did 15.7 in the 1/4 when it was stock (better than the 16.2 Car and Driver had) and beats the EPA fuel mileage estimates (FWIW, those aren't all that accurate). I've maintained it well though. It's great for longer trips and doesn't ruin my back.

For my next ride (probably a year from now) I'm thinking of a newer Explorer Sport Trac. If I go with another sedan, I want something stickshift and German.

The only GM cars I really liked from the 90s were the 94-96 Impala SS (Caprice-based). I'd easily pimp one of those. Trucks are alright, but I've never been a fan of their styling and WTF is up with their interior materials? (I know they've fixed a lot of those now... the new G8 is pretty sweet.)

But I agree, all the American carmakers are really on top of their game right now.
