For all the work your putting into the truck, you might want to consider dropping a LS1 engine into it, they can be had for not all that much nowadays.

yea alot of people have told me its because of it being a vortec

what other performance mods u got done to it so far?

haha im runnin straight headders. sounds like i got 600 hp i only wish. right now its just the headers. im plannin on gettin a 383 built up to about 350 hp tho. i wish i could get an lt1 or even an ls1 but i dont have that kinda money since im a studen and only 19.

I dont know about where you are, but in CA they have been going for 4k and under, with enough hunting the yards and whatnot one can even be scored for under 3k if you really look hard enough. maybe you are thinking of the ls2 or something

im thinking a new ls1. problem is all the computer and stuff u have to get to go with it not to mention someone to install it in the truck for me cuase that is way outside my league.

sounds good i wish i can run straight headers i really want some long tubes

im thinking about making mine a stroker talked to a few people and they have told me the vortec block is a good one to do it on not sure how true that is something about it being a roller cam

yea. vortecs>than earlier year 350

Yea I dont know the market of a lsx over there, however the ones I have seen sell are w/ computer (sometimes with a little haggling). Keep up the good work though, it's cool when people keep a car in the family, you should have some family member call overhauling lol
