Chevy Cobalt SS - not quick enough

In the 1/4.... don't know yet. It runs mid 12's now based off an earlier 12.5 WRX race, and an obliteration of an 05 Carrera S.

I just got Nitto 555R's, new shocks, and soon Ill have my friend help tune the car when I get back down. I'm hoping for 11's on kill w/ slicks. Then again...this is my DD that used to get over 200+ miles a week.

yea i ****ed up. Marley has a Buick GN he should race a new Cobalt SS, i got bids on the GN

I'm going to be purchasing a Chevy Cobalt SS, the non supercharged for insurance reasons(and it's 3500 bucks cheaper lol)
The non supered SS gets 25 city 34 hwy, for a combined like 28-29 mpg, and I'd like to keep it over 25.

It has 170hp stock and although it'll scat pretty well, I need a little more

What Can I do to bump her up around 250, par se, without losing tons of MPG

Air Intake, Exhaust - what else? Chip, Cam, Headers, what?

Plenty fast, good gas milage, honda reliability, lots of mods available

^does not happen can not happen, Magnuson-Moss Act prevents that.
Its pretty easy for the dealers to play connect the dots with mods unless its something like your transmission messes up and you've got a cold air intake. The chip will pretty much void any warranty that might be on your engine.

 
They have to prove that it caused the malfunction. Besides why would Superchips, Edge, Banks,and Hypertech make something that would fuk up your enigine and put their named on it.

Why would anyone in the aftermarket industry put their name on something that could possibly **** up their car? Cause they're not liable.

they can void your warantee on the spot if they find its chipped, they dont need proof that its screwed anything up

A cam really won't do anything, there isnt enough disp. to really gain THAT much extra airflow, and exhaust would help, but not much.
I know its not turbocharged, but on DSM's and EVO's adding a nice set of cams will give you a very easy 30-35 whp and wtq on a 2.0 liter engine!........on my car, cams + fuel pump added around 30 whp and tq

 
The RSX Type S was a consideration, I'm just not sure

It's 5,000 more expensive and right now, with the way chit is, that's a huge thing

I don't need any more car payments than I have to have, but I do like the Type S

Yes, but those engines were also not used to their full potential. When you are talking boost, it is a WORLD of difference, especially when you are in the upper range of boost, such as 15-20psi. When you are talking that much pressure, if the exhaust duration is not taken into consideration (as is w/ OEM cams) then you are robbing yourself of some major backpressure that could greatly help you.
