In the process of building a decent gaming rig.

So far, I already have a Intel E8400 chip, and a 1TB WD 7200RPM, 32MB drive. The rest of the hardware I'm thinking of ordering is as follows. Any input would be appreciated, as far as saving a few bucks here or there.

It's a Wolfdale rated at 3Ghz. Good over clocker from what I've heard. Holding off on quad for the time being

I use this case btw. Its teh *** as long as you clean it out so it doesnt get super dusty.

only thing i would change is the video card.

you can find nvidia 8800's for around that price if not lower.

8800's are running +$ more than the 9800 series right now new for some reason. My buddy got his 8800GTS about 4 months ago for $90! According to GPU review, the 4870 beats the 9800GTX+ in core and mem speeds, and destroys them in Flops and Mem bandwidth, although not texture fill rates. I've never particularly liked ATi's drivers, but I figure since my board will be cross fire ready, I can always add another 4870 down the road. I was leaning towards the Asus Dark Knight 9800GTX+, but they run about $20-40 more.

Is it a sunbeam? I like it cause it glows under UV.

All my case fans have UV leds. The rear exhaust has a UV light ring.

Nope. Mine doesnt glow. I do have all antec tri speed 3 Blue LED fans though. I also Have a UV cathode Light witch makes my wire loom glow, but now its mostly tech flexed blue

Ive been meaning to buy some UV flex tubing. Would look sick as **** in my comp I think. The only light my comp emits is UV.

I kinda lost interest though once I got out of the pc modding hobby. I dont even know what the new rage is now hardware wise. I used to know what was best and a good deal and such.

Thats def a secy case. I move mine alot between home and work for lan games. I wonder if I grabbed that case by the back I might pull the top of or something. I guess I could always glue it back

Run the 200 series nvidia/Dual sli and upgrade the power supply, imo
