So you're saying sundownz doesn't truly know what he's doing either? He's working on a 3" coiled 8" atm.
audioholic is correct. Sundownz is custom tooling the parts for his new 8".I wont go so far as say anyone doesn't know what they are doing, but bose301 is quite right that a 3" coil in an 8" sub creates some serious suspension issues. Not impossible to overcome, but cutting the hole on your 2" ID spider into a 3" hole is not a viable solution. IIRC Jake at Sundownz is working on special spiders for this very reason.
yeah its really strange.. how can a free air sub sound like that with that small amp? hmm i must ask Mr Einstein..he gave me this answer: its called mechanical noise, if the gays dont know that, let them only play 1.500 - 20.000Hz for the rest of their lives..
I bet that's what you tell all the guys....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifthat is def the biggest 8 ive ever seen
there was no fail. it has plenty of motor strength, its an atomic motor and I mean really, come on, we are talking about an 8" subwoofer here. and its getting reconed right now with two stiff spiders and a custom wound coil. it will do just fine. I have the number of watts in my head that I am shooting for but I will see what it can take when I have it back in my hands.well they have done some free air test and it have a 1,575 usable throw,
Jh8909: that thing look nice, but it doesent have half the motor strength, and the coil can not take half the power, and the spiders is not good enough, so i guess it was a fail =/
