my guess is that he was modify something to get the 3" coil there, so the full face dustcap maybe doesent was so full anymore ^^

I doubt it's a functional driver. I'd have to see vids of it actually working...

If he truly knew what he was doing he would never pair an 8" sub with a 3" coil. You will get so little travel from the spider that no amount of power will make it perform as good as a cheap, low power 8" driver.
