Check out this Install...

Looks fine.
Just do the big three and try to use the largest gauge ground wire you can afford.

You will be fine.
Was Planning on it...

What gague wire should I use for the big 3?

Gonna do the system first. then upgrade that stuff as needed in the next few weeks...

any of you gonna look at the wiring?

We are buying the stuff for the box tonight, and I am sure he will want to order the rest of the wires tonight...

We want to do most of the install this weekend...

I used 4 gauge since I had extra. Before big 3 my battery read 13.8, after I was getting 14.5 with my DMM.

it doesnt matter, Jl will put 500 watt rms at lower voltage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

big three not necessary unless you determine it is after install, is ay go with deep cell for main batt and go from there.

I think it all depends on the what your alternator is rated at. Also, if you blast the a/c and are charging cell phones and using auxiliary inputs constantly I would do it.

It only takes about 20 minutes and looks nice under the hood.

What gauge speaker wire are you using?
was thinking 12?

we are thinking 2 gague Power & Ground to the dist block then 4 to each amp from there...

Look at the link in my OP there is a diagram of what I am thinking...

Is there an advantage to running the grounds to a distributiion block then to the frame? I am planning on grounding each amp right where I install it?!?

I would go with a 1/0 wire into a fused distro with 4 ga going out of it. Between the battery and the distro I would put at least a 200 on it. Yeah it's a little overkill, but I am sure if you hang here enough and hear the JL haters, you'll switch those amps out for something cheaper, as efficient, cheaper and cheaper.

I figure from a shop a 500/1 is gonna run you like 400 each give or take. You could get 1 amp putting out like 1500 watts + and save some money. Honestly I would not get any of that. I'm sure it is WAY overpriced and you could get a lot more bang for your buck. But that's just me.

shyt my power acoustik will be running 3 RE SEs at 2.67 ohm 2100 watts rms.

If i put that baby to work and put it on 1 ohm thats 3300 watts rms i think.

$350 amp but i got it cheaper. THD 0.5% 150amp worth of fuses on amp. WOOT WOOT!

any reasoning to the 1/0?

I looked it up, and as best I can figure 2 Guage is overkill?

there is no such thing as overkill with wire gauge, you can make the wire rediculously long but still its not really gonna matter in a car. Bigger gauge means less resistance.
