Check out this guy's $10,000 audio system

That box wasn't right....had a lot of problems....It can be louder...It was an experimental box....Plus my car has over 150 sq. ft of dynamat...roof and all...everyone I talk to claims it cost 2dbs...I'm not running aeros...I'm told that cost at least 1db...So i dunno

I figured if someone were to spend $10000 on a competition stereo system, they would at least know how to build a proper box.

I dunno...I just like seeing how loud I can get my car...I use to hide some of the stuff I built but not anymore...Now I'll show pic...I just take it in good fun...I've never even put power to the Z1's or the 99Z's....I figure this will be my last year competing anyway...one reason I didn't attend finals...I'm looking for a new hobby now....

What Tommy K did is more impressive to me honesty....1 Type R 10" that can be had for less than 100 dollars more like 80. and an Orion 2500d (which IRRC he is rising up to like 3 or so ohms and only getting like 1300 out of it) and did a 147.x and he had never run SB before. Plus you have the advantage of a rex. Hell even using a rex in SB should make you pro...but thats just my opinion...Im just waiting for drag to come to central texas and then Im done with USACi

the subs arent even flush mounted, weak. if you spend $10,000 at least get a professional job done

Honestly...more than likely man...Ralph is going to reclass you to SB5. Because with that kinda cash in a system and your gloating he is going to make you PRO. Honestly I hope he doesnt, because I want to compete against you, but Think about this. Ralph and USACi started Streetbeat for the everyday non competitor to see what their systems could do on music. You are blowing it out of proportion with 5K in subs and 8K in amps....its not an everyday system anymore...Hell me with one BTL and 2 Strapped 20.1s is to much for SB in my mind, but thats what im going to run becuase of the elimination of SS 301-900. But I garantee you if you put up higher than a 156 with those 99Z's and Z1s you will get reclassed to SB5...and there your have your competition with the Ho Problems (tomm McKinney) if he runs USACi next year.

What I was saying from the beginning. Doing a 151 with known SPL subs, known SPL amps, in a well-known SPL car isn't what I call an accomplishment.

I May not know how to build proper boxes but 3 years of straight first place wins and nothing less must mean there are a lot of people that are less builders than I am....

I hate to say this though man...but I know because im from your part of the state/country....YOUR CLOSEST COMPETITION in SB1 was like a 138 or something...SB1 isnt a class with a ton of competitors in it. You were in a rex with DD 9510s (or 35s) and a ton of power...and dont use the 4 ohm rations because you werent using the amps at 4...you were running the 20s at .5 strapped showing each amp .25 ohms...come on now.

Tommy Mckinnie has been winning firsts in bassrace for the past 2 years.

Why?

Because nobody else has the money to spend to catch up with him in terms of equipment and testing/knowledge. While some superstreet guys are quite a bit louder than tommy (i saw bob perillo bassrace a 163 at finals), they don't compete in bassrace. You act as though since you are "invincible" in your AREA with $20,000 worth of retail equipment that you are untouchable. Well, i'll put it to you this way, you compete in strictly USACi. That about sums everything up.

stop hating on the car and equipment, if you dont like it, either shut up or do something competitive, type r's had their day and will neva see it again, am i impressed with the numbers you did? sure, but we all know that he who has the better equipment and a crx, at least in street classes, wins

Im going after him this year...but I have a feeling im going to run into your problem with the Single cab...running into a wall where I cant get louder. My box is pretty stout right now, hell i was impressed with getting the Mag up to a 146 with 1K. And after listening to the BTL with only 1k on it Its a ton louder to the ear...Now just to add a 40.1 on it and let it wang. He wont get off so easy next season...Me, Jntar, Djman37 are going to get my truck ready for SB next year...and dougs ready for SS 601-1800. It wont be quite as easy for him next year.

I've never said anything negative about his system...in fact on the USACi forum...I told him what a great job he did...and we talked what about if he added a 2nd and another orion 2500D ...I told him it would be a good chance he could beat my record doubling power and speakers could gain as much as 6dbs....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I don't talk negative of anyones system..They always go after me...I change my system at every show I goto ...boxes...subs...amps etc...I'm always experimenting....like I said before it is only a hobby...no money to win...a cheaply made $10 trophey for a $35 to $70 entry fee
