Thank you. Oh yes, still alot of work. They need to be finished painted, sub needs to be sanded and painted (that foker is ~ 1.5-2 sheets of wood, I need to have someone help me move it for me to work on it). Then the elusive mains shall commence. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Since y'all seem to enjoy pixxors, here's some more. I posted a thread in the box building section on how to cut square cutouts well. I thought about breaking out my router guide that came with the router, but it didn't have the reach for this enclosure. I thought and thought about what to do, then i finally said screw it; i'm going to use my jigsaw free hand. As i was walking to get the saw, I looked at my wood pile and spied my circular saw's cue piece (it's 1.5" something and you lay it down along the line and put a piece of wood on the outside edge of it and the blade then lines up with the line when you remove the cue piece and the 2nd piece of wood is clamped. Straight cuts for 20 cents.), so i decided to make a basic guide using the cue piece clamped to the box. I'm fairly impressed with how it turned out for the first time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, on to the pix:

The edges are mdf "fluff" that I hadn't sanded yet (I snapped my good bit (she'd been good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ) so I used my old skil bit which blows).

And one of the driver in its new home for a test fit (titebond I for size compar.).

Surrounds' and center's progression. They were fully painted about 15 minutes after I took the pictures (last coat drying as I type this).

Looking nice Dave //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Only thing that came to mind was to flush mount that sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thank you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, I was thinking about building another baffle on top of it, but the request was a 3" raise off the ground and that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. It's sweet as heck as it is. I just need to test it out with the coils at 8 omegas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

*edit* Or I could rear mount it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

OH and I have a question for any woodworkers/carpenters/thylantyr //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Is there a way to join wood and to have a strong joint without using screws to hold it? It's starting to be annoying to keep filling and filling. I was told to look into biscuits?? What are those?

theres ALOT of different ways to do it..dove tails, biscuits, dowels, tongue and groove etc etc..

you could always start using nails, which is far less filling...or just not use nails or screws...

Dovetailed speaker enclosures done in hardwood would look really sharp, too bad it's not done more often //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
