Well not really that cheap.

Ok. I am running out of money for my system and wanted to hear what my sub amp sounded like running in 2 ohms. I am running a Profile 400MSX mono amp into 2 kicker comp 8 ohm 15's. Not bumpin the minivan enough d/t the amp only putting out 200watts in 4 ohms. I only paid $47 for it refurbed. ( Did I mention I was poor?)

Tonight, I was in Wally world and bought a Pioneer 12" 4 ohm sub and a little sealed box and wired it up in parallel to the 2 15's. Set the box on the floor right behind my seat and DAYUM! Slammin bass right into my back. Just the sound I was lookin for!

I am really surprized this sub sounds this good. I actually did this as an experiement and was going to take the sub back. I did stuff the box with as much polyfill as i could get in it so maybe this is helping.

Question... There is nothing wrong with running two 15's and a 12 together right? the sub amp isn't even warm after running it this way for awhile. I know I should have bought two 4 ohm 15's but didn't realize the amp did 2 ohms until after receiving the Kickers from Ebay.

if your happy with it, wheres the harm? not everyone needs to go half deaf or fully from their system...just alot of ppl on here like it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif myself i could live 24\7 with bass

And to the OP, other than the fact that your setup is ghetto to the fullest, there is nothing technically wrong with it. The cancellation issues expressed earlier may occur, but I doubt that you care much about the sound quality if you're running that setup.

you must havn't never heard a real system
Actually I used to have a pretty good one in the early 90's. I had old school RF Punch amps,( 2 DSM punch 40's and a DSM punch 100 for the subs) Two 12" RF Subs in a custom sealed enclosure in my mustang hatch area and 2 Boston component sets front and back. I had an Audio Control equalizer and crossover units and tweaked the crap out of it. Everyone that heard the system said it was the best they ever heard.

Too bad almost everything was jacked one night, putting me off car audio for years. Man I wish I still had this stuff, the amps mostly.

Yeah this is a pretty ghetto idea although I am surprised at the tightness of the bass. Probally going to take the sub back and look at getting 2 15's to run in 2 ohms. Sell the kickers on ebay maybe.
