Hey my buddy is looking for a system. He owns a 1995 Honda Cpmcerto, anyway needless to say its a small hatch back that doesnt have much in the way of alternator output. He doesnt want to spend too much upgrading the elctrics. Big three for sure, but if he can avoid buying a HO alt or batt then all the better. Which single twelve should he go with? Enough space for 2-3 cubes. What amp? I dont want him underfeeding eltricialy so i was wondering which of the three in the title (or others if you think og them) Thanks guys.

The L7 and Type R are both power hungry... i'd throw 750watts minimum at them... In that space i'd go with 2 10's, Although i'm not sure what to recommend without knowing what kind of amplification he plans on using...

Its a Honda Concerto, and there is no space issues, we've got room for days. Yeah the R's and L's are power hungery, but we were looking at putting 1000w to one 12 anyway. That being said, whats the vote? Two PGs or 1 L7 or what?

Typically 2 subs will be louder than 1. If it comes down to 2 PG's vs. 1 L7, i'd go with the PG's. However, if you can get 2 Type R's or L7's it becomes an entirely different ballgame. With the L7's the box will end up being kinda largish... around 6 cubes total. L7's are overall loud, but peak lower than Type R's. The R will peak VERY high, but it will lose out to an L7 over the rest of the frequency range. In a small box, i'd go with Type R's. In a large box i'd go with L7's. If you're on a budget i'd go with the PG's.

both have decent SQ, with the Type R winning out.

That said you can grab 2 R's for 250 or so shipped. 2 L7's for around 300 or 350. And i'm not sure what those PG's go for.

Ive found the pg for $80. Seem to be sq badasses. R's impress the hell out me, i just kinda wanted to hear a single L7. With a mrd-m1005 powering the setup, one l7? two type rs? two sd?
