Cheap subs that get loud. under $80

I picked up one of these running off a 250 watt Kenwood mono amp that was free. It's in my 2001 Sierra in a sealed box, and gets loud and sounds excellent.

For $55 these RE's subs would be very hard to beat imo.

For $80 bucks you'd be lucky to get 1 used and beat on. Even then a $80 investment in a 12" will yield better results, especially at lower frequencies. I'm pretty sure he's already bought 2 12"ers for under $80 already.

Back in the day, I got 2 MTX road thunders for 89 plus tax (Buy one get one deal). Can't complain for what they were, they took massive amounts of abuse, in a prefab bandpass box, getting clipped to hell because I had no clue what I was doing. The good ol days heh.

I've seen em on here for 80 shipped a few times. But in a proper box a 8 can still play lows with some authority

Have you personally owned one and expierenced it?

Because I had one in in .6 cubes tuned to 34 on 600 rms at 2 ohms and the lows were not impressive compared to any of the 12's I had. The 12's were also being fed the same power as the 8. I'm not trashing 8's or sundown. They are a very stout sub and I enjoyed it when I had it but you're just not going to get the same output. And of course the output was simply based on cone area.

I had the 8 in the trunk with port loading off the wall btw.

So if you had a cheaper 12 against the sa 8, the 12 is going to win. Maybe not a year later, but in general it will.
