Changed subs, no higher end bass response?

A couple weeks ago i upgraded to my first set of 15"s, and i like them and everything but they seem to be lacking on the higher end bass notes. Like anything from say 60hz on up seems to be almost non existant. For example, that ti song whatever you like that has all the higher frequencies wanged on my previous setups with 10s, 12s but now that i have 15s i notice they get alot lower, but dont respond well to the higher notes. Im using the same lpf and everything, same box style too (sealed, slanted face) I built the box myself and im wondering if its not too big and thats affecting them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Its like .5 cubes per sub over whats recommended by the manufacturer, which was caused by me doing some inaccurate math when getting the wood cut //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Ive played the higher notes and looked at the subs and they sound like garbage when trying to reproduce those notes. Theyre getting about 500wrms on an alpine m500, gain is about half, no bass boost or anything. You guys have any idea of things i can check?

What are your crossover freq settings? At the H/U, at the amp x-over?

What are you using for midbass up front in your main speakers? Your component speakers handle most of the upper bass freq. The subs are supposed to be just sub freq's. 60 hz and below is normal, but you can go up to 80 hz. Some subs/boxes don't sound good over 60-80 hz.

Good 6 1/2" midbass, run off a big amp, in the doors that are sealed well do most of the upper bass work. People are frequently impressed how much "bass" my little single 10" puts out and how good it sounds, because they are really hearing the upper bass from my door speakers that thier system lacks. They say my bass is "tighter" and "punchier" than thier much larger bass rigs. It's in the door speakers.

I kept it the same as my last set of 12s i had, crossed over at 80 on the HU, and the amp doesnt have a full pass option so i have that cross over high as it will go. Im thinking its just the subs not responding well, they do awesome with the lows though. I need to run them ported real low and see how i like it then i guess. I get a decent amount of midbass from my comps and rear speakers (phoenix gold RSD 5 1/4 comps up front) but what im looking for out of the subs is the higher notes between like 60-80 hz, and its not there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif The higher notes seem to be the peak in my car, so i thought going with a decent set of 15s, and a little more power than the 12s had, itd be alot louder. But its only louder with the lows (Where the 12s i had lacked)

Clifs -

Had a set of mtx 7500s seeing about 500rms, was loud with higher notes but lacked the car shaking lows i was aiming for

Upgraded to some MA audio 15"s seeing a little more power, lows are awesome but the higher notes are almost gone completely, wanting to know if its user error or just the subs.
