I believe you would. And so would I. But what about all the guys who 'left' to go to CT and only come back to tell us how awful this site is. You dont think they'd swarm over, log in their account, and vote for the worst person they could think of? And Im sure a lot of people would believe their bestst e-friend would be a responsible choice, even if he wouldn't be.
I cant speak for everyone either, and maybe you are right and Im wrong about this. I doubt it, but its certainly possible. The problem is, the only way to find out would be to do it. And if it ended up the epic fail? We could do a lot worse than Worstenemy (hopefully). We need to go back to arguing over who makes the best subwoofers, this is minor shit unless you really really really wanted to be a mod (I dont mean you here bubba), then all I can say is... sorry, but we probably dont want someone who wanted to be one that bad anyway.

You make a good point. I guess the only way that could be avoided would be to let Goob use his discretion with the results but then we're pretty much back where we started...Also I don't think the people voting for their best friend would be a big deal because that person would get what, maybe a hand full of votes? With the size of the forum I would expect the winners to get thousands...

You make the point Worst only liked my post because Im taking his side. The ironic part is, you only see my reply as nuthugging because I disagree with you.

When you can't counter any of my points reasonably, you simply fall back on calling me a nuthugger and dismissing everything I said. So I'll make one of my point again, just for you. If this bitchfest is about getting a good moderator, why are all the complainers just, well, complaining, instead of offering to help make Worst the good mod you all are wanting? I doubt a single one of you know him personally, or well enough to know if he's capable of handling this authority well, provided proper training. So how is it not obvious that this bitchfest is about jealousy rather than moderator quality?

I wouldn't have chosen Worst. For some of the same reasons you guys mention, age and length of time served in this asylum. And I agree he has shown some immaturity here before, but he's also shown enthusiasm for the site and the hobby. With the right help he might turn out great. If he doesn't, he can be replaced (Iknorite, amazing concept). I doubt you guys are gonna change Goob's mind with these threads. A better approach might be to post asking Goob to discuss having an avenue of communication open to him in order to keep an eye on the situation in the mean time. This is a lot more reasonable request imo, and is more likely to get an agreement from Goob. At which point those who are complaining on the basis of wanting good moderation can rest assured, and the rest will just have to deal with life forcing them to compromise on something.

A moderator election around here would end being nothing more than a popularity contest. How many people would vote for their favorite troll? Their favorite forum trouble maker? Their bestest e-friend? We cant trust the community here to be mature enough that they require moderators to police, but we will be responsible enough to elect the two best candidates for the position? In what parallel universe would Supa's mom not place in at least the top 5? I wish it weren't true just like you do, but elections would be an epic fail here.

Not if it's done right. All goob had to do was just look at the general opinion of who people think should be a mod. I don't feel people have been making outrageous suggestions. Snoopdan, K_Schutte, and Ramos, would have been fine. There wouldn't have been all these complaints and useless threads made.

I honestly think he made Worst a mod just to bring some traffic to the site. Either that or Worst asked to be one. The shock lasted less than a day with me. Could care less who the mods are anymore. They rarely do anything anyways.

I like you too. I apologize if my wording seemed too harsh, I didnt mean for it to. But like Ive already said, Worst wouldnt have been my choice either (Dan would have). But its not the end of the world. I dont know Worst well enough to judge his potential here. And I didnt expect the people I would have chosen to actually get chosen. TBH, I didnt give Dan much of a chance of being appointed by Goob, good resume or not. Its a done deal, lets just try to help Worst become a good mod. And if it feels right to you to do like bubba and watch Worst closely and speak up when he fails, by all means do so. That's part of the responsibility Worst is accepting here: a lot more scrutiny, be it fair or unfair.

I suspect Goob might be wishing he'd done just that by now. But hindsight is 20/20, and I still doubt he'll change his mind without giving Worst more of a chance than a couple days.

As for him not asking us for our opinion, its not hard to see why he didn't. Ive been here a long time now, and Ive never seen the level of anger aimed at Goob as I have seen the past couple years. Very personal attacks, over the silliest little things. The anger and frustration are apparent in his reply here in this thread when he said "see this is what I get" (or whatever it was exactly he said). Many many of the people in this thread complaining they didnt get a voice in this, are the very same people who so often crack jokes about Goob being drunk, or a selfish rich ******* who only cares about profit, or stupid, etc. Well, this is the price paid for those comments and attacks, he doesn't trust the community as a whole. What do you know, our words and our actions here do have consequences after all.
