I agree that Goob is responsible for the site, the point of elections would have been to move some of that responsibility to the community. If we had held elections, and he appointed the top two that we voted for, it would have been our fault if they ****, not his. So yes I would be equally mad if he asked our opinion and then went with someone totally different. Who knows the forum better than the community itself? Honestly as a collective whole, we know much better than Goob does what would work for this forum. I disagree with elections not working. I don't understand what you think wouldn't work about them? I've seen at least one election, I believe I was here for when dbfan and ng were elected as well. The second set of elections didn't work because Goob never appointed the people who won.

A moderator election around here would end being nothing more than a popularity contest. How many people would vote for their favorite troll? Their favorite forum trouble maker? Their bestest e-friend? We cant trust the community here to be mature enough that they require moderators to police, but we will be responsible enough to elect the two best candidates for the position? In what parallel universe would Supa's mom not place in at least the top 5? I wish it weren't true just like you do, but elections would be an epic fail here.

Haha, but yes while I agree some people wouldn't take it seriously, I think the community as a majority would. I mean most of us, even though we do troll and act stupid, are fully functioning adults and know when something serious needs to be done for the good of the community we need to be serious. Well the same place it always gets the losing party. I mean when Bush was elected that's exactly what the Democrats did. Regardless of which party we're talking about, if their candidate doesn't win, they won't try and help the winner be a better president, they will just sit around and stew until it's election time again.

Well see no. Your point was that we are butthurt because WE didn't get in. I'm not upset because I wasn't appointed as a mod, I'm upset because who I think is qualified to be a mod wasn't appointed.

I believe you would. And so would I. But what about all the guys who 'left' to go to CT and only come back to tell us how awful this site is. You dont think they'd swarm over, log in their account, and vote for the worst person they could think of? And Im sure a lot of people would believe their bestest e-friend would be a responsible choice, even if he wouldn't be.

I cant speak for everyone either, and maybe you are right and Im wrong about this. I doubt it, but its certainly possible. The problem is, the only way to find out would be to do it. And if it ended up the epic fail? We could do a lot worse than Worstenemy (hopefully). We need to go back to arguing over who makes the best subwoofers, this is minor shit unless you really really really wanted to be a mod (I dont mean you here bubba), then all I can say is... sorry, but we probably dont want someone who wanted to be one that bad anyway.
