Its stupid because now a few members get together, think they form some majority, and think even if that majority were real, that it has some sort of authority to tell the site owner who to make mods and how to run his site.

Don't forget without is members, a fourm is nothing. This forum already is on the verge of nothing as it is. If there is a majority to be had, we better let the bots speak for themselves.

Of course this forum is only what it is due to its members. I was not suggesting otherwise. But 'majority rules' does not always work, isn't always feasible, and doesn't guarantee any level of success on the choice made.

We already know moderator elections wont work. And the majority already seems happy with one of his two choices (ramos, which I agree was a good choice). But people are mad they weren't "consulted" on both choices? We cant elect them responsibly, and we get mad when the choice is made for us, that doesn't leave many choices. Like I asked before, if Goob HAD opened a poll asking for our opinions, and then STILL chose worst, would we STILL see most of these people bitching? Of course we would. In fact, Im confident the bitching would be even worse because people would be mad he asked for our advice and then didnt take it.

Goob is ultimately responsible for keeping this forum's community thriving. His neck is the one stuck out here (in the form of losing/not losing financial income), not us members.

If the thought of one of the mods being 18 is that terrifying to some people, they are free to move to another forum. If they truly despised this site as much as most of them want us to believe, they would have left long ago.

One thing I've never understood is why this place has allowed racism and stupidity to be posted constantly but no **** pics or vids. Some of the best gifs involve ****** but I can't post them up without getting banned. Yet I can call people niggers, porch monkey, wet back, dirty mexican whore, and other racist stuff and there's no problem. You make the point Worst only liked my post because Im taking his side. The ironic part is, you only see my reply as nuthugging because I disagree with you.

When you can't counter any of my points reasonably, you simply fall back on calling me a nuthugger and dismissing everything I said. So I'll make one of my point again, just for you. If this bitchfest is about getting a good moderator, why are all the complainers just, well, complaining, instead of offering to help make Worst the good mod you all are wanting? I doubt a single one of you know him personally, or well enough to know if he's capable of handling this authority well, provided proper training. So how is it not obvious that this bitchfest is about jealousy rather than moderator quality?

I wouldn't have chosen Worst. For some of the same reasons you guys mention, age and length of time served in this asylum. And I agree he has shown some immaturity here before, but he's also shown enthusiasm for the site and the hobby. With the right help he might turn out great. If he doesn't, he can be replaced (Iknorite, amazing concept). I doubt you guys are gonna change Goob's mind with these threads. A better approach might be to post asking Goob to discuss having an avenue of communication open to him in order to keep an eye on the situation in the mean time. This is a lot more reasonable request imo, and is more likely to get an agreement from Goob. At which point those who are complaining on the basis of wanting good moderation can rest assured, and the rest will just have to deal with life forcing them to compromise on something.

I agree that Goob is responsible for the site, the point of elections would have been to move some of that responsibility to the community. If we had held elections, and he appointed the top two that we voted for, it would have been our fault if they ****, not his. So yes I would be equally mad if he asked our opinion and then went with someone totally different. Who knows the forum better than the community itself? Honestly as a collective whole, we know much better than Goob does what would work for this forum. I disagree with elections not working. I don't understand what you think wouldn't work about them? I've seen at least one election, I believe I was here for when dbfan and ng were elected as well. The second set of elections didn't work because Goob never appointed the people who won.

I think you are one of the few people here with a legit reason to be angry, I think you had the best resume. But I also know you'll probably get over this long before most of these other people with virtually no resume do.
