I have a pioneer 980bt head unit with 2 amps one alpine 4 ch x100 running 2 componet sets 12 ga wire to the x-overs and 1 alpine mono 1000 running 2 10's. 1/0 power and ground running to distrubtion blocks, optima yellowtop battery, 160 amp stock att. everytime i turn up the volume the cd player skips with alot of bass. This has happen with 2 cd players both new. The cd player has a back strap and is firmly in the dash of my 09 ext cab silverado. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! There is a alot of vibration but i dont think my 2 10s in a proboxrocks.com ported box at 1000 watts plus 2 sets of comp at 100 watts are making that much noise vibration to make the cd player skip if thats the case maybe i should go find some SPL comps LOL!!!!!!

Thanks

Chris

The problem is your headunit generates heat because it has an internal amplifier which makes it overheat. Does turning off the internal amp help? If not, get a stereo with no internal amplifier, runs cooler and doesn't skip. Or a player with better anti-skip features.
