Hey hows it going my names santana new member here looking for some help.

i currently have a Pioneer DEH-P7900BT and i must say i love the functions of the unit especially the built in BlueTooth and how easily i can browse my ipod, more importantly how easily i can browse my ipod and all of the HU functions through the remote.

Couple of months ago i had a cheap 4-Channel amp that over heated and when it did i mustve damaged the HU cause now you can here a whine coming out the speakers similar to the alternator whine but it is steady and doesnt increase or decrease with the RPM. So now im in the market for a new HU, would be nice if i could find a new 7900BT but havent had any luck.

So here my choices so far and the pros and cons ive read. would like some recomendations and verification.

1)Alpine..CDA117 and IDA-X305s..I was leaning more towards the 305 but bailed out on both when i found out that you cant navigate your ipod with the remote, only thing its good for, as far as the ipod is concerned, is skipping to the next song. Another thing i see is that the 305 has 2v preamp, im still new to the whole car audio thing but is this really an issue? ive heard the more preamp voltage the better.

2)Pioneer MVH-P8200BT...basically the same issue you dont have full browsing capabilities with the remote and there is no USB hook up in the rear. This is also my least favorite looking HU and wouldnt help with a cable hanging from the front

3)Kenwood KIV-BT900...havent read anything about the the remote browsing on this one but i did read something about it having a delay when skipping through songs, something about having to wait for the album art and or song info to load up before being able to skip to next song.

4)Eclipse cd7200 mkii...Doesnt charge the ipod while plugged in and doesnt offer either ipod cable or bluetooth built in. I also cant seem to find one of this new for sale.

I guess my main thing is for a unit thats ipod and bluetooth compatible and that i can manage just as easily from the control as i can from the unit, my pioneer i have now only thing i have to touch the HU for is to show or hide the clock.

Im also open to new suggestions as long as it close to what im looking for.

thanks for the heads up on the charging adapter but i dont see where it says this unit is bluetooth capable. This is an option i need being that i'm military and spend a good deal of time on base where cell phone use while driving is prohibited and strictly enforced. But hey if you do find that it is indeed bluetooth capable shoot me a msg with the selling price of the unit and how much it would cost me to make it bluetooth capable.

well not to get off topic but been doing some reading and from the looks of it i think the issue im having with my pioneer HU might be that PICO fuse. I might just take it out tomorrow and mess with it but for now let just stick with the topic at hand.

Yea that extra year of warranty is enticing

well thanks for the help guys but looks like it was that pico fuse that was causing the issue on my pioneer HU. Decided to go ahead and repair it my self by bypassing the fuse. Came out great and no more eng noise, looks like ill be sticking with old faithfull for a bit longer. Shame they dont make HU like they use to.

Now i dont have to buy a HU now i can def get me that new DC sub ive been looking at, thanks again guys.
