Cars with good gas mileage

I'd rather get a little worse mpg's then to be stuck w/ a car payment. There was math/research done a while back and people that switch cars just based on how much gas they were using and were pretty much considered morons. Now if you drive a 20yr old beater and are looking for a better/newer/more efficient car its a diff story..

For the Price i couldnt beat a new 2011 Ford Fiesta Sedan, 44mpg at only $14,000.

my old ass shit gets like 22-23 city 27-28 or better highway. and it's paid for and super comfy.

yeah basically

if you are trying to live green and want to save tress then sure, get an eco friendly car with high MPG (which are sometimes inflated by the manufacturer)

but if you are trying to save money and your current car is paid for....you wasting money.

you need to sit down and figure out how much a new car will cost you vs keeping your current car and getting so-so MPG.

Factor in insurance, maintained, tags and tax, new tires, etc

Im driving around a 2010 cobalt as my rental and its not bad at all.. Small and a bit weak, but avg 32 mpg through a tank of gas 70% city / 30% hwy ..

also Kia Forte Koup.. Nice little car.. Ive been looking at gas mizers for over a month now and between the focus, forte koup, cruze, civic, corolla , the kia was actually my favorite.. Good power, great ride and comfort, great mpg cheaper than most of the others, and a better warranty 20yr/200,000

Lately I've been driving my CRX a lot more. 40 mpg mixed highway/city and that's on a bad day. Without a heavy foot I've broken 45mpg more than once. I love that little thing. In my mazda 6 I only average around 28-30 at best.

Unfortunately I rented the new Focus to drive my dog down to California. I hated that lime green pile of puke but it did average 43 mpg doing 75-80 the whole way.
