Caraudio.com, I need your assistance for the most important aspect of my setup

honestly i think you are trying to start too big... if you do a smaller setup like maybe a single 10 or something where you wouldn't have any problems getting to the spair tire .. and maybe even run the stock h/u for a while something that doesn't rattle the car apart and then in a month or two when nothing has blown up he will gain confidence and then you can go after your dream system...

oh i also meant to mention that whenever a black guy opens his trunk, he is automatically dealing drugs at school. true ****ing story //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
I thought that was only true below the Mason-Dixon Line. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

he said no because i'm black and i'm a target for the police. logic does not work in my household, and probably will never work. why continue to do business with car audio if you can't learn any more about it? you can use books and articles, but unless you are doing it yourself, the efforts are futile.you won't be seeing me around here anymore is all that i have to say. goodbye ca.com.

don't let the door hit you *** on the way out. if you do get a system i'll come down there in a white robe and start shooting at your car. then no system for good for gary.

Just start tearing it apart while he's at work... when its all back together he won't care anyway. My dad didn't want me working on cars at first, but then realized that I can do it with no problems at all (in general) and gave in. I've fixed up 3 different saabs and sold them, now I drive my truck but who gives a ****, I'm still 17 and have a lot more cars ahead in my life. (I am going to get another saab soon anyway). One advantage I had though is I owned my saabs 100% outright, so I could literally do whatever, all he cared about was me cleaning the garage after. Now I work at a car audio retailer, and I work on his lexus as well. Good luck with your dad, but I say just get the ball rolling and he'll hop on the bandwagon. I have no idea why you have so many posts if you've never even done car audio...

EXACTLY wtf?
NOw that I think about it, it kinda does make some sense. He's gonna give you a few weeks to see if you screw up anyones car while you're an installer. When they haven't fired you for blowing up someones car after that time, he'll change his mind.

However I will offer you some advice Lemans, it will be pretty difficult for you to get a job at a car audio place (especially as an installer) without any experience or any gear in your car, as well as because of your age. My advice? Go and say that you want to do a work study program through school (this way they are not looking at paying you for the training you will need to do the job). Even if you don't get any school credit for it, it should still be worth it (assuming you catch on and secure yourself a job).

Even then it might not be very easy to get a job as an installer unless you are certified or have some sort of experience. Maybe try box stores?

i was talking about for him to install his system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well then in that case that makes more sense... his dad will probably still be the majority shareholder in his car though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

indeed, i am not going to press the issue, but i wouldn't even be stupid enough to go to an interview as an installer when i myself haven't done anything like it.

best bet is have it done look it over study it and study for the mecp then decide. if you didnt have a 2002 diamonte id say do it yourself but the new more expensive the car more likely a mess up costs more. if you had a 94 mustange or something id say go for it yourself but you dont. you say you can do a box i say you let a pro install the deck rcas run 0 ga wire hook up your mids and highs and leave an opening on the distribution blocks for a sub amp. make it very easy for you to add on later and save money. the professional work done wouldnt effect your trunk at all
