sometimes, not always when i start my car, it sttarts with hesitation, or takes a few seconds before it clicks, and it clicks for a bit for some reason, and then sometmes itll just fire up.

i currently dont have any sound system hooked up or an amp or anything for that matter.

what gives?

ill be hooking up my sound system within a week, i just dont want it to not work when i hook it up, or my car not start at all.

thanks

yes the starter clicking, and its almost as if its low on juice or something, am i able to tell with a ddm if my batt and alt are fine?

actually sounds like a bad battery.

bring it to oreilys or something have it tested. and if it is replace it with an agm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There should be a thread about taking your vehicle up to Orielys/ Autozone at least twice a yr. and get the battery tested with and without a load, as this has become a common issue? It is FREE folks..FREE.You will be able to tell if your battery is working properly, and to tell if your alternator is working as it should.I recommend taking the car/ vehicle to one of these places first before spending any funds, and jumping to conclusions....and its FREE:D

no, you can't perform the test with a DMM - you'd need a load tester. They're actually not all that expensive, but you may as well just go to the shop and have the test performed by "professionals" who "know what they're doing".

not sure if anyone mentioned it but it could be corroded battery terminals. i've seen them even look clean but not turn the engine over, a quick cleanup with a wire battery brush and bingo the car starts.
