Car problem

exactly.. but the third time i took it to the dealership they had it for a period of 4 days and tested for parasitic drain, did charging tests, and they had it hooked up to testing shit to see if the battery was getting drained at all.. it wasnt..they had no problems ever starting it up.. they found nothing wrong and they gave it back to me saying its perfect and my car must be possessed.. seriously he said that..
anyways here i am 10 days later with a dead car.. theres gotta be something that i do that triggers it to drain.. like i said the only thing i did different yesterday was turn on the heated seat.. but i just dont know.. i really dont know what to do because the dealership has no idea what it is and im not very good with cars and this thing only has 84k miles on it.. this is shitty
well it's got to be you leaving something on that draining it. charge it up and turn your heated seats on and don't shut them off when you turn your car off. then keep an eye on the batt and see if it drains. if it does then there's your problem. if not then it's got to be something you're leaving on someplace in the car. besides that there's no reason it shouldn't be starting unless it's like what everyone else has told you the batt

lol.. someone mentioned something about me removing my headunit's faceplate.. is there anything related to that that may be causing this?
the only reason that would cause it is if it was staying on unless you remove it. or keeping it on made your amps stay on. other then that no it wouldn't have any effect on anything and i don't know why it would in the first place. if it does then something is wired wrong with your head unit

hmm if i check to see if the heated seats are draining the battery.. how do i actually go about checking to see if the battery is being drained?

pull the harness plug on your seat for a couple days, see if its still getting drained.
what/where is that?

My car started doing weird shit after i got 2400w in there.
i only have 800 in mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif the hifonics amp has an 80A fuse externally on it.. do u guys think maybe that the amp is highly inefficient and sucks up so much current? also my alt size is 110 amps

pull the terminal on the battery and connect your dmm, one probe to the battery and the other to the terminal, and see what the drain is
which terminal do i pull and what do u mean by one to the battery?

My cousins car has done the same thing a couple times. It took us a while to figure out what was going on. It actually ended up being a bad battery the SECOND TIME.

BUT, the first time we found out that it was the plug that goes into the Alternator. It was barely plugged in and sometimes the battery would be getting charged and other times it would not.

If your DMM checks AMPS then go ahead and try what Dman suggested. This is going to find out quickly if something inside your car is draining the batt.

IF your DMM does not check AMPS then>>>>>>>

My father is mechanic and told me a couple things to try when we were having problems.

First. He said go ahead and charge the battery up full at the end of your day. Check with DMM.

Unhook the Neg cable like Dman said. Leave this cable unhooked all night and then go test the Batt's Voltage in the morning. If it is fully charged then it is most likely NOT the battery.

Next. Charge the Batt fully again. Leave all cables hooked up and repeat the steps from above. If the voltage is drained quite a bit then most likely something is draining the battery.

It could be many diff things that could drain it and it is sometimes a big B**** finding electrical problems like this.

Good luck man

This is why I recommended the dmm to find the issue...

I completely agree. When we were having problems I did not have a DMM that would check AMPS, So I had to just check the Voltage after a period of time. This is why my father suggested leaving it overnight to see if there is enough of a drain to affect it.

My cousins the second time he had this problem was just a bad cell in the battery. It would test fine sometimes and charge up fully everytime. BUT when it was left sitting it would slowly drain itself.

the dealership had my car for a total of about 9-10 days.. im 99.9999% sure they tested for that stuff... they told me nothing was being drained and they never had a problem starting my car.

there has to be something im doing that triggers something to drain the battery.. because like i said sometimes it dies in 3 days.. sometimes 10
