Car Idiling high

my car just started idiling at 2100 rpms when its in park. but when i put it in drive it drops back down to normal. Anyone know why its doing this? It doesnt go down after a while either. Only does this when its in park. The car is a 1997 chrysler lhs if it helps any

well.... i dunno about that car, but in mine all i would have to do is take the negative connection off the battery for a minute and it would reset the computer with the idle speed.

Sounds like a high choke to me...

You know like a choke on a lawnmower, there's the same thing in cars, makes the air/fuel ratio really low.

Not familiar with the air intake/fuel delivery systems of your engine, but it sounds like an Idle Air Controller malfunction to me. My brother's WRX had an IAC problem and resulted in high idle.
