Car drives...but won't start? WTF?

im no mechanic, just trying to give friendly advice that may help. but 1. make sure you have power to your starter. make sure your battery ground is connected nice and tight... that happened to me when i went to get my new alternator put in. they disconnected the negative cable and when they were done and put it back on, they broke the screw that tightens the cable to the post. they didnt tell me that that happened either.

My jeep cherokee is doing the samething, but mine's the crank position sensor which Jeep/Chrysler thought it was a brilliant move by puttinig it on the upper left of the transmission only where a drawf can get to it.

tripple chec k the connection to the starter.

There should be two. One constant, which will be a thick wire, and one that gives 12 volts when you turn the key. it will be thinner.

He can use the DMM now. I walked him through on the phone. Great guy and fun to talk to. I hope the car is still running well man.
