car didnt start, need help quick!

sup guys, i was listening to music in my car tonight at a really low volume but for like 1-2 hours. stupid, i know. well when i went to turn on the car it wouldnt turn over, and it sounded like the battery was slowly dying. so i push started the car and let it run for aroun 20 minutes and then i drove home. it was on for a total of around 30 minutes. anyways, im curious as to if it will start tomorrow. i drive a 94 acura integra LS. i think the alternator is a 90 amp, and the battery is only a year old. did leaving the car on for 30 minutes recharge the battery enough? if it doesnt start tomorrow should i push start it again and leave it on longer? or should i go and buy a new battery and/or alternator? im running a 2000 watt Boss ripper amp and a 400 watt alpine amp. ****, ill make sure to never leave my radio on for that long again. thanks guys.

if the battery is not a deep cycle...then i think you will need a new battery pretty soon

i did that also and i had to buy a new battery...it was not taking any charge

if you need to play music with your car off...get two batteries...one for starting and one for your music

You shouldt need 2 batteries

I used to watch movies for and not have a problem turning over...and thats with 3 amps and a ps2 and a 5.6 screen

in my opinion you dont need to buy a new one just push it if it doesnt start then thats it. if when you push the car an it does not start then ALL MIGHTY you need to buy one FAST. but that i dont think so. though i havent been that stupid - listening when car is off. i didnt mean you are stupid and all im saying is be careful i guess you just missed it.

You should be ok with that new of a batt. I ran my car completely dead a couple months ago. Went to a Chiefs game and left the lights on. It was DEAD. It took 3 or 4 minutes just to get it to jumpstart.

After 20 min. of parking lot traffic (idle) and a 20 min. drive home it was fully charged and started fine the next morning.

Yeah well sometimes you just get a bad battery

Make sure your wiring is clean and of the proper guage from the alt and into the car

if you worried that your system is wiered incorrectly

That your face plate off and dis con the ground wire from you amp

30 minutes at 'highway' speeds (the RPMs over 1000 or so) should give you enough charge to start today.. if not, you most likely toasted your battery.. starter batteries can't be fully drained, it damages them (they never take a charge properly again).. But, if you still had juice to listen to the stereo, you 'might' be ok..

And, the power of the amps is not relavant when you are talking 'low' volumes.. granted, the more stuff you have in your setup the more total draw, but it's not like you are pulling 75 amperes or anything.. depending on 'how low' the volume was, with amps on and such, you might have only been drawing ~15 - 20 amperes (the more draw the less time the battery will be able to power it)..

I guess, if it doesn't start you can push it again and drive it (at highway speeds) for an hour or so.. if that doesn't charge it then you fried the battery.. Make sure you try to have as little electrical on as possible as well.. should help the process a tad if the biggest drain on the alternator is the battery..

thanks for all the help guys, i really appreciate it. well i woke up this morning and found that my car was towed because of the stupid *** community that i live in. when i went to pick it up it started fine luckily. i gguess ill see what happens from here, but ill definitely get a new battery sometime soon. if i get a deep cycle battery, can i hook up the one i have now in the trunk as a second battery? which should i use as the second batt, the one i have now or a deep cycle? thanks again, you've all been really helpful.

one time i left my lights on at work from 6 am to 9 pm at night and it was stone dead. So i got a boost and let it run for 10 mins at idle and then drove it for a 1 1/2 hr to get home and it was still good and it wasn't even a new battery i had it for 2 years and it still had lots of juice to this day. Its not a deep cycle its a ENERGIZER battery .(lol it just keeps goin and goin )
