that kx has 500 more watt's. and is a beast!
yea i know it does but at the same time thats what worries me about it. i don't want to blow my new subs i just got but i can get such a good deal on thes amps thats why i'd go with one of these instead or just the zx1500.1. alot more power for right around the same price

that's what the gain is for..

just becasue you have a 2500.1 dosent mean you are allways going to have 2500w thrown at ur subs at all times..

and i know 2 l7's can take that mutch power. no problem, espechially in the right box..

shit im over powering my subs by 400 w

yea i've been hearing that from alot of people but i just want to be safe. and i'm pretty sure i don't have the right box for these but it works for now. well once i see my check today i'll know for sure if i'm going to go with the kicker or crossfire. i'll let you know what i end up doing because either way i'm going to need some help setting everything up just be safe when it does come time to set my gain and what not

well keep in mind when you have someone design the box for the subs' let them know what kinda power you are going to be giveing them ect..

i think sub's up, port back would wang in our type of car.

i just had SPY a memeber on the forum's here design me a box for 1 10'' Kove armogedon, for my G/F car. the design came out nice. im gunna be building the box this sunday up at Hi-Fi.

alright well when i finally deside to do it i'll look into it more. i ended up going with the crossfire. i couldn't beat the deal on it and i'm pretty tight on money right now as it is so saving any little bit helps.

so i'm just curious seth you keep saying you think sub up and port back or up in our cars would be best. why did you go with subs back port back then?

because i like they way it sounds like that then subs up ect. ect.. i like the tone allot more the way i have my set up..

i built that box for that 10'' kove armegedon throwing about 750-800 watt's at 2 ohms to it, sounds really good in my girld Escort. even getting flex out of the back door's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

ok i guess what makes sense. with what you have right now with the two batts and everything what does your voltage drop to? i know you have still been having problem with it but how low does it drop? i can't remember what it drop to when i had it. i know i had a little problems with it but i also only ran it at 4 ohms for a while and i'll be running it at 2. i think just untill i can afford to get another batt and maybe even a ho alt i can't decide if i want that one i might run it at 8 ohms and just have it be quiet for now.

but that brings me to a question i've been wondering. people always say that when you run a amp at a higher ohm it draws less current. but why would it draw less current to make that power? to me it seems like it would still have to draw the same amount of current to make that power cuz it just has more resistance pushing the power threw that it's putting out so thats why it's less power that it puts out. just something i've been wondering for a little while but never asked anymore.

at worst i drop to about 11.5 on my rockford volt meter in my dash. but on a DMM i drop to about 12.5

allso the lest resistance the amp see's via the sub and how it's wired means the amp will put out more power. now the reson it put's out less power at 4 ohms is due to the resistence..

at 2 ohms the amp will put out more power.. all in all it takes power to make power, that's the need for more juice, HO alt's, Batt's ect..

just like wight to hoursepower ratio's..

yea i know it takes power to make power and i know that it does more power at less ohms or resistance. my question is they say wiring it at 4 ohms it will call for less power or draw less amps however you want to say it. but thats what does make any sense to me. to me i think it will still draw the same amount of amp at 4 ohms at it does 2. it just puts out less power at 4 ohms because it has double the resistance at 2 ohms. is this correct or am i way off for some reason?

4 ohms = more resistance = less power witch mean's less current draw..

i'll have to talk to you more about it in person i'm having kinda a hard time explaining it
do you know anything about ohm's law.. that would explaine it all to you..

i see what you are saying tho..

it's just like running high octane gas, you will see results of high octane from a performance vehicle. fill that same car with lower octane and it wont put out the same performance..

yea i know what ohm's law is i know all about that. i guess i'm just kinda confusing myself on the whole thing. like it seems to make sense one way i look at it but then i look at it another way and it doesn't make sense. i think whats confusing me on this is i'm forgetting that a amp can see what ohm it's running at so it puts out the amount of power it's supposed to. is that how it works?

if so then it explains it all i just need to remember all the rules and how everything works when i'm looking at it

depending on how you wire the sub's 4 ohm or 3 ohm is what the amp see's.
