Car broken into... thoughts

So I parked at work today at 8AM, locked the doors, and got back to my car at 4:30 PM. Locks punched out, and car now unlocked. Nothing missing what so ever. I had a laptop a saxaphone, and an amp in the back seat. And the system in my sig. All of it still there, not even moved. I checked for the key to my lugs, thats still there. So what the hell, bust out my locks and leave everything... what was their plan? Do I have anything to be worried about?

I would think that they did it just to mess with you. them locks are expensive but not expensive enough where you'll have to claim it on your insurance so you're spending money that you don't have to spend. Thats what i think

I agree with the "caught in the act" consensus. Or someone playing around with you. Although, that is a shitty way to mess with someone.

Time for an alarm, with a pager. And, maybe, don't leave that kind of stuff completely visible inside the car.

I'm guessing whoever it was got caught. They did that to my brothers truck at his house. But they tried to break into it again later on that week. So I'm guessing whoever it was might try it again. Get a good alarm.

well i took the key for my lugs out of my car, but i mean missed, they got in and took nothing out of it, they really missed everything, They gave me permission to park in a garage with cameras for the rest of the week. So I am good on that for now.

mostly extremely out of money. Getting layed off in a week.

The car had an alarm when I got it. First time I had the HU switched though it stopped working. Is the alarm integrated with a stock stereo?

I'm guessing they got scared off. But now, they know you don't have an alarm or anything stopping them from getting in.. So I'd be extra cautious for the next few weeks.
