07 trailblazer ditching bose but want onstar

the stock bose system sucks,so im ditching the entire stock system.but i still want the chimes and onstar to still function.but if i take out all the door speakers and change them,the onstar plays thru the front door speakers,correct?so if bose dont work anymore how do i use onstar?

you can install a separate speaker to use for your onstar.

trailvoy was no help.i heard about installing a seperate speaker for onstar.what harness would i use

You would have to leave the Bose amplifier in the car and connect that separate speaker to the front left channel output wires (tan and gray).

i know the expensive harness will let me keep the onstar and chimes but thats only if im keeping the bose system.i need a way to add a little speaker under the dash so the chimes and onstar will work only thru that 1 speaker

Are you keeping the factory radio? If so I gave you a solution for that? If not buy the harness and wire one speaker of the front left channel of the Bose amplifier.

no im not keeping the stock unit.so,i buy the harness for bose or non-bose?if im not keeping the bose,im not sure what one to buy or how to wire up the speaker

Buy the Bose harness use it for power, ground and ACC for the aftermarket radio cap off the speaker wires as those will not be used. Now wire the external speaker to the output wires for the front left channel of the Bose amplifier. The front left channel are the tan and grey wires that are twisted together. After that you can completely ignore the Bose system and wire the system as usual.

ok i know which harness to buy now.if i leave the bose amp plugged in and only have the left speaker hooked up,wont that speaker play along with all the door speakers?

Capping off the speaker wires from the onstar interface takes care of this issueas you will not be providing any input from the system to the Bose ampifier. The Bose amplifier will therfore only be taking input from the interface to provide the chimes and onstar.
