Car battery electrical problem.. wtf is it

So a short is a good thing?
Huh. Guess I've always been incorrectly associating that with the word short. When something shorts in and out I thought that was because of a lose/bad connection. Learn something new every day.
A short is a bad thing. Its what fuses are meant to protect against.

Its not the alt, its not the water level in the batt, its not a short. None of those would cause the car to sometimes die after a short period, but not after a long one. Its a bad connection, probably right at the batt since it affects everything electrical on the vehicle. Corrosion is a common culprit for this type of thing, either at the batt terminals, or in a cable itself.
Yup. Pretty much what I had been thinking, just figured i'd throw it on here to see if someone else knows of something I overlooked.

I tightened up my terminals real tight, checked and tightened bat/alt grounds. There is no visible corrosion anywhere in the engine bay (battery, terminals and cable are all less than 6 months old)

Everything has gone fine for 24 hours. The next few days will be the real test.

Thanks holic.

You don't need to tell this douchebag that. He's well aware.
Yeah, obviously, I know everything about everything. My mom can run WAY faster than your mom. And I been on these forums for years before she even let you log on to her AOL account.

yeah, you're a straight idiot. a short is a short circuit you moron not a disconnection. A short doesn't have a chance to become a short if it isn't connected.

gg, ttyl, peace, kbye.

Key word is "lose" which should have read "loose". Obviously from your found solution, I would have fixed the problem well before posting about it.
That's why umad.
I tightened the connections before posting the thread. But being so sporadic, and something I had already done, I figured it would happen a gain.

Who are you to talk about posting something useless? Fo real?

upissed. I win.

So did you fix it? if not look at what i posted.

Had a Honda do the same thing, and changed battery, and went through 3 bad , brand new alternators from Orielys, and it did it again.I turned the ignition key on, and let it set for a couple min, then it would start right up.WTF??Well, I found that it was actually the Ignition relay in the fuse panel , as I tapped on it, the car would start every time.Been 6months, and no issues:D,Honda DX Hatch..has new fuel pump/filter/plugs/battery/alternator/dist/and timing belt/water pump..Gets 35-41 mpg at 75mph:veryexci:
