car audio shop ****...

Plus car audio shops are a dieing breed. Internet has killed the local shops.
true... but bad shops do there fair share of killing themselves

and the reason why a lot of ppl end up doing it themselves and getting educated at the same!!

its a win win

This is why bestbuy and others who do more then car audio make money. They hit all aspects of cars instead of installing only.

If your local shop knew how to do up to par box designs and fiberglass, then almost everyother shop would lose customers.

I think if car audio shops actually hired audio enthusiasts instead of people that didn't know what they were talking about and doing they would stay in buisness

True audio shops only hire friends and close relatives.

Favortism.

They get hired on don't know ***** about what's in store and cheap labor.

How many of us have walked into a store asked the associate about a certain item and only a return response with I dunno...?? Wtf is this world coming to?

Not really. large portion of customers are noobs that have 100 dollars and want some cheap bass in their car. Or simple stuff like alarm install or head unit install along with window tint. A large portion of people with money and are willing to spend on good gear, they have the problem of lack of knowlege and they go to stores based off of reviews on yelp which junk stores are inflated with countless 4/5 star noob reviews and thats the first thing they turn to. While the knowledgeable shop will have a very rough start trying to build a customer base because enthusiast might not know about you, and noobs think your prices are too high. Before customer base builds, you might be balls deep in debt already with upkeep. So unless your marketing/branding game is amazing, it'll be an uphill struggle for decent shops to float.

yea, no one seems to want to pay to have a good shop with skilled installers do any work until they want to go next level shizz like this, and realize that they just cant learn skills like this on youtube ..... which was pretty common through the 90's and early 2000's ....

Aaron Cole - 1991 Chevrolet Astro - 2002 AS&S

And when you get to that page, go up top, and click on "Third party installs" ... this is what real shops can do .....

I got that issue.

Those clamps holding the subs in place are custom machined. Amazes me what true installers and such are capable of doing. Just seems endless and creativity.

So that guys an idiot but you can't remove a door panel and do it yourself………

I can a remove a door panel I just always break at least one clip which which irritates me.

You have to think about where the money is in most areas. It's basic off the shelf installs. Not many are going to pay for the labor required for full blown treatments.

Most that want that are going to do it themselves.

Treating a car is very time consuming.

There's a shop where I live that does the shittiest installs. They don't even attempt to hide the wires and they way over charge.
