Car Audio + Rims = Bad Idea?

Question has been answered, in detail, several times now, prior to your 'you'll be fine' mumbo jumbo.
Way to go and 'dump in this guys thread.'

Well, i wasnt directing much at you. Your posts were decent. Im mostly referring to the d-bags like keiffith.

While we're at it though, go f*ck yourself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

donno, its a one off car. was made to go fast. the wheels are wider than stock, and the Z04 kit is modified.
I can admire the car, and it's obviously clean...

but the front lip throws it off.

Hood louvers were cutting it close, but the exposed mounting points on the lip canceled it out.

Oh yeah, and to the OP - 'You'll be fine!'

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Everyones a wee bit touchy tonight in this thread. Take a deep breath or go slit your wrists or something, you may feel better. F*ck.

Sorry if I missed it but what kind of car? I had 20's on my grand marquis with 275/45/20's on the back and 255/45/20's on the front. I'd say the system weighed 300-400 lbs after all the deadening and all that jazz. The wheels actually didn't seem to hurt my gas mileage as bad as I expected but it obviously did affect it. The speedometer actually stayed on. I loved the 20's. I personally feel 20's are big enough but not too big. I tossed around the idea of getting 22's for awhile but I'm glad I didn't.

Here's a pic:

Wow, people REALLY don't know what they're talking about. It HIGHLY depends on the vehicle. Let me post this once more...please, tell me, does this look shit?

And I have plenty room to spare, that's with a 2.5" drop. Could fit 22's with rubber bands if I really wanted, but that IMO wouldn't look all that great. I've seen PLENTY of G35's, 350z's, some Corvettes.... all with 20's, and they look very nice.
Very nice man.

These are 20's and don't look like shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif and the Car Audio works fine.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Again, very nice.

i dont like it. wheels consume the car. and theres NO tire. indy cars and drag cars dont use 20's so why should i?

that looks good.
Come on man its a beretta. These were some of the coolest cars when my dad still lived in the trailer park and I was 8. It is what it is, I'm all about v-8's but come on, It's a beretta.

You must be an emo in disguise.

It varies depending on the amount of weight you add to the vehicle itself, and the amount of weight you add in the unsprung mass department.
You can expect longer distances to come to a complete stop from forward motion, slower acceleration and a dip in your gas milage.

There are other 'unsung' issues as well. Some vehicles (usually smaller sport compacts) will have issues with their transmissions due to the extra stress, and you will probably see some issues with camber/toe. Camber and Toe can be corrected, luckily.

CV axles will have a shorter lifespan as well.

...BUT

This depends greatly on the starting wheel weights/overall sizes, and actual vehicle.

If you can get past those issues (I have, several times...), then go for it.

It's all down to personal taste, budget and willingness.

I went from factory 15" wheels to MUCH wider 20" wheels with 225/35 tires in the front and 245/35 tires in the rear. I added a considerable amount of weight (+20lbs per corner), but really only noticed the excess on quick stops at highway speeds. I went from 27-28mpg to 24-25mpg.

I would say about 85% of your post is describing my car to a T.
