Hi Guys, Im this is my first post and Im looking for some help please!! Im a bit of a newb in this whole car audio hobbie..

anyways, I recently purchased a car that already had a sound system from the previous owner. I noticed it had a nice deck (alpine), but when I turned it on, it sounded like cr*p.

Anyways, I removed the door panels only to find this:

The tweeter and crossover from a crystal component set and a very poorly mounted infinity coaxial.

And that is only the front door, I havent taken a look at the rear door yet!

The person who sold me this vehicle also told me that he had purchased some Dayton RS180 speakers, but never got around to mounting them. Well as you can see from the pics, now I can see why! Its 3 inches deep!!

My question would be, since I dont intend to spend a whole bunch of money, what can I do with the gear that I already have?

Suggestion and comments are welcome!!

Im gonna guess the speakers were powered off the head unit. If thats the case than u need to pick up a amplifier ASAP. Night and day difference. Get rid of the coaxils and just run the component set.

Well I just found an amp under the passenger seat, it seems to be a Rockford 200s. I guess it goes to the speakers since there is no sub.

I think Im going to ditch the infinity coaxs and try to install the Daytons up front with the crystal crossover and tweets. Do you think thatll work?
