Car audio companies cleaning up their act?

I think that car brands were trying to reach out to the lower age group with the chrome personally and i could careless i like the chrome color but if it hits ill put a pink with purple polka dot sub in my car:p:

The only thing bad about the amps being smaller is the HUGE price increase.

Other than that, I'm much more happy with a small, straight-forward design. Sometimes I feel the R&D goes too much to the aesthetics rather than the function.

i always and only ever buy audio equipment because of the way it sounds.

id run egg boxes with chips n caps in them if it sounded good.

only thing showing your chit to peeps is gonna do is get you jacked.

shows you how dumb the people working for ca companies are

how long have the Brax and Tru amps been looking sweet

dint see much of a difference with the kicker sub comparison, and i like the robot look on the kenwood =).
I agree, the Kicker looked very similiar. Only a slight difference there.

Also, the Kenwood seemed to go for a more simple look, and the RF amp seemed to go in the other direction.

I will agree that a lot of companies are going for that more modern and high end look, and getting away from products that look like they are trying to attract high school kids. I have to say I like the modern look much better than the older more jagged looking products.

I was browsing around in an audio shop today, and I've been noticing a trend that has been occurring over the past couple years. Audio manufacturers have really been making their products simpler and cleaner.
Example 1: Kenwood Amps

They have gone from having amps that look like robots..... like so:

... To having a much cleaner, more refined look, like so:

While I do see your point (and agree with it somewhat) for your Kenwood example you've used last year's "regular" Kenwood amp and then compared it to one of this year's eXcelon amps.

The eXcelon units (as far as the amps, anyway) have always looked significantly different than their "regular" Kenwood counterparts. I imagine this is more for reasons of visual distinction from one level of product to the other more than anything dealing with functionality but who knows...

Actually the large RF powers are still being made. The Mini Powers are the ones in the new heat sink.

beat me to it.....

only a few of the new ones look like that, the big ones still look the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
