would having a bad alternator considerably kill the potential for a subs wattage output? i had a mishap earlier, my alternator went dead. now its working again. my bass has been very bad lately, could it be due to my alt?

ok a sub doesn't produce wattage. second explain this alt going dead and coming back to life? if the alt can't supply enough power to the amps, of course they won't make power. do you have your gains set properly? if not and you are clipping the amp, your amp will be drawing nearly double the current. next have you done the big 3? (tutorial is stickied in electrical forum) do you have proper wire size going to your amp?
