Capacitors .... Do they work ?? Time to stir something up REAL bad :-)

"#5 is the alternator upgrade.

Bear in mind, it's not a "happy happy" upgrade.

There are compromises and tradeoffs... it's expensive, you'll lose useable horsepower, and even gas mileage.

You might find that the current capability at idle RPM isn't much higher than your stock alternator was... it might make it's higher current number... but at a higher RPM, like 3000.

That's something you should know, while shopping for them, if you ever do get there, someday. You should look for the plot of current capacity vs RPM, because current capability is a function of RPM."

The page with the info on electrical systems seems to be a very loosed and intelligent idea. It still has not sold me on capacitors but I guess if you have the money, it couldn't hurt and if you have digital ones then you have a constant voltmeter on each amp. I know for a fact that it will not harm an electrical system so I guess if someone wants to use them then that is their decision. The are using caps for the same reason a lot of people buy a lot of things. It's arguable and the buyers sided with who they thought was correct. This happens all the time in car audio discussions. More power to you blue.

And just for the record. That stealth install is pretty ugly but if that is what the customer wanted. It's not my car. Stacked amps look good.

uh excuze me mista. How can you say it's ugly, I spent a lotta time on that.
No matter how labor-intensive it may or may not have been appearance is purely a subjective thing.

You can have spent a bazillion hours creating that and someone might still find it unattractive.

Personally I'm of the opinion that the low-grade looking carpeting you've apparently used for a faux bezel looks like crapola. It looks like you cheaped out on the materials and the resultant install's appearance suffered for your miserly tendencies.

It's an opinion.

If you don't like it bear in mind that I wasn't the customer so it doesn't matter much ultimately.

Yeah , literally ANYTHING was possible as far as I was concerned , but the customer made it VERY clear that he simply did NOT care about looks , only great sound quality. He only wanted the factory radio faceplate to be seen when the car is parked , and didn't care about how the head unit looked , only that it was mounted behind the fake one.

The amps , cap , wiring , sub , ect. can NOT be seen when the trunk is opened , just a fake trunk back that hides the equipment. the trunk is still useable , and the spare tire can be taken out without removing anything.

Anyone looking the car over in a parking lot would never be able to know there is even a system in the car. It's what he specified , so it's what he received.
