Cap high pass design wiring

I used to know this but want to make sure. I am installing a single amp system with no active crossover. I want to use cap as high pass filters. I have front 4 ohm speakers and rear 4 ohm speakers so generally the amp sees a 2 ohm load.

If I install the cap after the split, say at each speaker, does the cap see the 4 ohm speaker and thus I should use a value for 4 ohms.

OR

If I install the cap before the split, do I use a value for a 2 ohm setting?

Yep, that's right.

Either way, it's going to be a large value capacitor if you plan on getting any bass out of them at all.

You're not putting the front and rear speakers on the same channels, are you?

You'd lose any ability to fade front/rear...

I think I'll hijack this thread for general questions about this subject when the OP has all of his questions answered because until a few months ago, I had no idea that caps could be used as filters.

Yeah, I want to keep it down to a single amp. I never really find myself needing to fade it front or back, just volume up and down.
