I know your suppose to come off your alt. positive into the fuse box to the car and then fuse between the fuse box and the battery positive, but will it hurt anything if you bypass the fuse box and go from the alt. positive into the fuse then into the battery positive?

What?

You don't need to go to the cars fuse box, just take the wire from the alt + and take it to the battery +, fuse that wire going to the battery.

so could i do the alt negative to battery negative then battery negative to chassis? this is how i have it now. i think i was suppose to do alt negative to chassis but is the way i have it ok?

All you need to do is follow the stock wiring. Engine or ***** to chassis, - to chassis, + to alt.

the alt shouldnt have a negative. it's already technically grounded to the engine block by way of bracket.

dont take the wire that was orginaly on the alt that goes to fuse box that way if theres a surge in your alt your cars still protected i think

there is already a fuse between the alt pos an battery pos. i bbypassed the fuse box. is alt bracket to battery neg then battery neg to chassis ok? instead of alt bracket to chassis then battery neg to chassis. i have a ground run also.

no not to neg battire just to chassie and then battrey to chassie rember the shorter the better

i may be wrong but im thinking that sine im running a ground from front to back i think it would be better to come off the alt bracket to the battery neg since this goes straight to the back attery and im not just relying on a chassis ground.

If you ground it back to the battery you better have a good battery ground. The ground to chassis would be better
