Cant get sub to work

At first i could not even get my amp to power but i finally got that to work by adjusting my remote line. The problem is the sub does not hit at all. It makes no noise whatsoever.

Alright im using a 4 Ohm type R alpine 10" sub

In a sealed 10" Q logic Sub box

Im using an Alpine Amp 400W at 2 Ohms

I plan on running everything at 2 Ohms

I have a 8 Gauge Power and ground wire

The speaker wire going from the subbox to the amp is only 16 or 18 gauge. The remote line is the same sized wire i used for the speaker wire. Ive checked many times to make sure all the negatives match with negatives and positives with positives. Im using the supplied wire with the box to go from the box to the sub. I have the little ohm cords set like the manual set for 2 ohms. The only thing i can think of is maybe my speaker wire is too small and i should try 10 gauge or maybe even 8 gauge speaker wire. The guide on this site says at 2 ohms i should use 8 gauge wire for 600 watts i think so idk. If anyone could help that would be great.

This is my first install ever so be gentle im fragile lol.

Im using a pioneer DEH-P3800M and i think its the power light on the amp. Its a bright blue led coming on. On the deck i put the eq on super bass to see if that would help but it didnt.

I already have taken the sub out of the box and checked the wires and they are fine and not touching.

How do i know if my sub is shorting?

I dont have a voltage meter to check

Any other ideas?
